Every Sunday morning since September, I get up at about 5:00 am and head out of the rectory by about 6:30 to go to St Matthew Catholic Church in Ripley, where I celebrate mass with the Spanish speaking community there at 8:00 am. I usually get back on the roady by about 9:15, where I have just enough time to travel the 50 miles back to Tupelo for our 10:30 morning mass at St James. Here are some of the symbols I saw at St Matthew's last Sunday to remind us of our Lenten journey.
