Wednesday of Holy Week - Prayers of the Faithful - 8 April 2020

Lord Jesus - you are the suffering servant.
Christ Jesus - you are the son of God.
Lord Jesus - you are God’s truth.

Priest: Jesus, God’s Suffering Servant, put his trust in his heavenly Father who raised him through death to a new life. We now put our trust in God as we present our prayers to him:
1. That we may we be true disciples and listen to God every day, leading us to do what is right and true.

2. That our Church and Governmental officials be true servant leaders in this time of suffering and challenge.

3. That we Christians may prepare our hearts for the Sacred Triduum and for the coming of the Lord in a special way during the Easter season.  May we feel spiritually close to each other
at a time when they cannot be physically together.

4. For those who are suffering from the COVID-19 virus.  For all the sick and shut-ins.  For healing mind, body and spirit.  For the ability to resist temptation and fight our addictions.

5. In gratitude for all who are helping us during this difficult time.

Priest: Loving Father, in your great love answer us, and bring to every restless, fearful and anxious heart a lasting and courageous peace. We make these prayers through Jesus Christ, our Lord forever and ever.  AMEN.
