Prayers of the faithful - Tuesday of Holy Week - 7 April 2020

Lord Jesus - you call us to conversion - Lord have mercy.
Christ Jesus - you bring strength - Christ have mercy.
Lord Jesus - you help us resist temptation - Lord have mercy.

PRIEST: Lord, at this most difficult and challenging time for your children throughout the world, as our loving Father, we ask you to hear our prayers.
1. In this time of crisis, we ask your Lord to help our Church leaders for the faith to stand by Jesus and to lead the faithful in perseverance and resolve.
2. During this Holy Week, we pray for the grace to reflect on the Way of the Cross and on the sufferings which Christ endured out of love for us.
3. We pray that our governmental leaders govern the people in justice and wisdom.
4. As we reflect on the sacrifice which Jesus suffered on our behalf, we pray that our society display that same love as we struggle to overcome the Corona Virus. We pray that at this time, we dedicate ourselves by word and action to a renewal of our commitment to our Christian faith and love of neighbor.
5. We pray for the sick, the mentally ill, those battling addictions, those needing healing in body, mind, and spirit.
6. We pray for workers who are putting their lives in risk to do their jobs.  We pray for our medical professionals, our first responders, and the men and women in the military.
7. We bow our heads to pray for the repose of the souls of the faithful departed, our own personal intentions, and the intentions of those who have asked for our prayers.
PRIEST: We thank you, Father,  for the promise our faith holds out to us. Through our prayers and Lenten observances, may we grow even stronger in our faith. We ask these prayers through Christ our Lord. Amen.
