Two
candles are lit on this second Sunday of Advent as we continue our time of
anticipation and preparation.
Let us
pray.
O Lord,
stir up our hearts today that we
may make a way in our lives for the birth of only begotten Son.
Today,
as we hear the prophet Baruch tell us to put off our misery and mourning, as we hear
John the Baptist crying out in the desert to prepare the way for Jesus life and ministry, we as
disciples of Christ are called to prepare a path for Jesus in our own lives.
Lord,
through the coming of your son, may we be made worthy to serve you with joyful
and sincere hearts.
We ask
this through Christ our Lord. AMEN.
