Catholic prayer to the Holy Spirit - in honor of the 6th Sunday of the Easter Season

This weekend, on the 6th Sunday of the season of Easter, we hear about the Holy Spirit.  Here is a prayer to the Holy Spirit of God.  

Spirit of wisdom and understanding, 

enlighten our minds to perceive the mysteries of the universe, the mysteries of eternal life.  

Spirit of right judgment and courage, guide us and make us firm in our baptismal decision to follow Jesus' way of love. 

Spirit of knowledge and reverence, help us to see the lasting value of justice, compassion, and mercy in our daily lives and in our everyday dealings with our brothers and sisters 

May we respect life as we work to solve the challenges we face in our families and in our nations, in the economy and in nature. 

Spirit of God, spark our faith, our hope and our love into new action every day. 

Spirit of God, fill our lives with wonder and awe in your presence as you permeate all of creation. 

We pray these words in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. AMEN.
