This is a blog of homilies, reflections, and photos from a Roman Catholic priest serving in the Diocese of Jackson in the state of Mississippi. Currently, I am the pastor of Holy Savior in Clinton and Immaculate Conception in Raymond. I also serve as Vicar General of the Diocese.

In Jackson for meetings this week
What a difference getting away makes. I haven't had much of a break since Easter, so just getting away to another environment makes a difference. I am hoping to connect with some friends here in the Jackson area. We in Tupelo are still cleaning up from the tornado - still have not gotten any estimates from the insurance company yet. And the roof of our church which was supposed to be completed a week and a half ago does not look like it will get done anytime soon. The trees are finally being cleared by the city. We are making progress. It is like the tortoise that is slowing getting there. I am thankful for the staff of our parish and for our many parishioners for their fortitude and hard work. We will get there. And thankful for a little break away from things. That needs to happen more often for me.
