Introduction - On this 28th Sunday of Ordinary Time, our Gospel tells us the story of the ten lepers who were cleansed by Jesus. One of the lepers returns to him to give thanks and to glorify God. May our hearts be full of thanksgiving and gratitude for the many blessings we have and for the presence of God’s grace in our lives.
Lord Jesus - you bring us the joy of our faith - Lord have mercy.
Christ Jesus - you call us to have gratitude in our hearts - Christ have mercy.
Lord Jesus - you are the living word of God - Lord have mercy.
Priest - With joy and gratitude in our hearts, we bring our prayers before our heavenly Father
1. That we in the Church may be filled with gratitude for all the blessings and gifts which we receive from God each day. We pray to the Lord.
2. That we may grasp the opportunities to start anew when God opens new doors and opportunities in our lives. We pray to the Lord.
3. That through our awareness of all God’s gifts to us, we may draw closer to the giver of these gifts, deepening our relationship with God. We pray to the Lord.
4. That during the month of October, we may deepen the way we live out the Gospel of Life each day, honoring Respect Life Month. We pray to the Lord.
5. That we may all grow in our devotion to Mary and see her a model of holiness and patience that can help us on our journey and bring us closer to her son. We pray to the Lord.
6. That we may incorporate the spirit of the missions into our lives as we evangelize our own corner of the world. We pray to the Lord.
7. That the Lord continue to accompany our children, youth, and college students through their semester of studies and school activities. We pray to the Lord.
8. For the prayers that we hold in the silence of our hearts today. For those who have asked for our prayers. We pray to the Lord.
Priest - As we unite our prayers with the intercession of Mary and the community of saints, we present our prayers through your son Jesus Christ, our Lord forever and ever. AMEN.
