prayers of the faithful - 4 February 2022 - fourth week of Ordinary Time

Lord Jesus - you call us to faith.

Christ Jesus - you call us to holiness.

Lord Jesus - you are seated at the right hand of the Father.

Out of the depths of our faith, we present our prayers to our heavenly Father:

1. For the Church: that we may be attentive to God’s invitation and allow Jesus to draw our attention away from our fear and limits so that we can respond to all that God asks.

2. For growth in faith: that the dying and rising of Christ may be the foundation of our lives and inspire all our words, deeds, and desires

3. For a greater recognition of our poverty: that the Spirit of God will help us acknowledge how much we need God, free us to ask for God’s help, and open us to receive God’s wisdom and insight.

4. For the grace to listen: that we may follow Christ away from the noise and demands of daily life and enter the silent depths of our hearts where we can hear God’s words of life and love.

5. For all who lead others to God, particularly spiritual directors, retreat masters, and evangelists: that God will inspire their words, open hearts to receive them, and help many to encounter Christ.

6. For the sick and the shut-in, for all who need healing in their lives in body, mind, or spirit.

As we continue on our journey as disciples, we present these prayers through Jesus Christ, our Lord forever and ever.  AMEN.
