prayers of the faithful - 6 May 2021 - fifth week of Easter

Lord Jesus - you bring us the Father's love. 

Christ Jesus - you proclaim the kingdom of God. 

Lord Jesus - you bring us hope. 

Prayers of the faithful:

We present our prayers to our heavenly Father:

1. For the Church: may we grow in our awareness of Christ in us and see God's hand in the people, the events, and the created world around us.

2. For an awareness of the interdependence of all life: may we value our impact and others’ impact on us as we make decisions in relationships, use of time, and utilization of resources. 

3. For renewal in our hearts: may God stir up his Spirit in us so we build up the Body of Christ and bring forth God’s reign in the world.

4. For all Christians experiencing persecution, disappearance,  or violence: may the Spirit of truth help them bear witness to Christ, renew their spirits and heal their pain.

5. For the gift of hope: may we remain confident in God’s love toward us despite hardships, confusion, conflicts and ill-spoken words against us that do not establish nor promote peace. 

6. For all who are recovering from sickness or addictions or trauma they have faced: may God renew their courage and renew their strength.  And we pray for healing in our lives in body, mind, and spirit.  

7. For all who have died: may their hearts be united to the sacred heart of Jesus in His Kingdom.

8. For the prayers we hold in our hearts today.  

We present these prayers through your son Jesus Christ, our Lord forever and ever.  AMEN.
