Scenes from a pilgrimage

In the middle of the day's walk, we came upon this farmer who was leading his cattle to pasture.  This was near the beautiful town of Portomarin in the province of Galicia, not far from the city of Santiago, the endpoint of the pilgrimage.

What do you think this structure could be?  It is actually a corn crib, keeping the corn in a storage area where the rodents cannot get to it, and keeping it safe and warm from the frequent Galician rains.  Some of these structures were quite interesting in their design.
