Introduction: On this 33rd Sunday of Ordinary Time, we continue to observe November as the month of remembrance, lifting up our prayers for our deceased community members and loved ones. As we get close to the end of the liturgical year, we hear readings about being prepared for when Jesus will come again. May our words and actions reflect the call to always be ready.
Lord Jesus - you call us to be prepared and ready at all times.
Christ Jesus - you call us to have respect and reverence for God the Father.
Lord Jesus - you will come again in glory.
Priest: United around Jesus Christ, let us present our prayers to God the Father in faith and trust:
1.- That we in the Church may learn how to share with the whole world the treasure of God's love that we have discovered in our Lord Jesus Christ. We pray to the Lord.
2.- For our youth and our young adults. May they find Jesus Christ in their search for happiness. We pray to the Lord.
3.- For grandparents and for the elderly. May they always be valued for their experience and wisdom. May they never have to experience abandonment or loneliness. We pray to the Lord.
4.- For our society. May our commitments to justice and the protection of the vulnerable grow within our communities. May the Kingdom of God become real and visible. We pray to the Lord.
5.- For world peace. For all nations, their leaders, and their citizens, especially those suffering the tragedy of war, poverty, or hunger. We pray to the Lord.
6.- For seafarers and those who are traveling. For safety and protection. We pray to the Lord.
7. May all Christians learn to find the treasures of God hidden all around us in the reality of life. We pray to the Lord.
8. In November, the month of remembrance, we pray for those names inscribed in the book of remembrance. We pray for all the faithful departed, for their entry into eternal life. We pray to the Lord.
9. For the prayers we hold in the silence of our hearts. We pray to the Lord.
Priest: Heavenly Father, hear the prayers of your people and bless the world with your love. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord forever and ever. AMEN.
