2 November 2026 - prayers of the faithful for All Souls Day

Priest: Let us bring our prayers to our God of the living and the dead:

1. May members of the Church throughout the world lovingly reach out in compassion to those who grieve the loss of life due to illness, suffering, war, violence, and natural disasters. We pray to the Lord.

2. For civil leaders and the people they lead. May they work to strengthen bonds of peace, justice, and compassion in our world. We pray to the Lord.

3. May caregivers be strengthened as they reach out to the brokenhearted, to those who grieve, and those who have lost a loved one through violence or suicide. We pray to the Lord.

4. May all of us gathered at Mass today find the encouragement we need to continue our ministry of presence to those who are bereaved. We pray to the Lord.

5. For the souls in the process of purification in purgatory. We pray to the Lord.

6. For the unborn. For the most vulnerable in society. For those on the margins. For the lonely and the forgotten. We pray to the Lord.

7. For our deceased loved ones, family members and community members. May the God of peace grant perpetual light to all souls who have been drawn to the heavenly banquet. We pray to the Lord.

Priest: God of compassion, hear the prayers we offer for ourselves and for the human family, whom you have loved throughout time and into eternity. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
