St Raymond of Penyafort was born in Catalonia in present day Spain in 1175. He was a Dominican friar who complied a collection of Canon Laws for Pope Gregory IX which were a part of our Church’s laws until 1917. He is the patron saint of Canon Lawyers. His feast day is January 6.
"Look then on Jesus, the author and preserver of faith: in complete sinlessness he suffered, and at the hands of those who were his own, and was numbered among the wicked. As you drink the cup of the Lord Jesus, give thanks to the Lord, the giver of all blessings.”
