33rd Sunday Ordinary Time - Cycle A - Prayers of the faithful and penitential rite - November 19 2017

Penitential Rite:
As we gather in humble faith, let us call to mind our sins:
Lord Jesus, you bring us God’s wisdom.
Christ Jesus, you call us to have hope
Lord Jesus, you call us to pray for the poor and the vulnerable

Prayers of the faithful:
Priest: With the Lord at our side to support us and to help us, we now present our needs and the needs of the world to him with confidence.
1. For Christians everywhere, that they may be found ready and able when the Savior comes in glory. Lord.
2. For those who share the priesthood of Christ, that they may be faithful ministers of God’s forgiveness. Lord.
3. For people who live in fear of death, that God’s consoling word may be their support.  We pray for the souls of the faithful departed and the souls in purgatory.
4. For the bereaved, whether their loss was recent or happened many years ago, that in this month of remembrance, they may find healing, peace, and a renewed spirit.
5. For all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, that God’s powerful presence may help them to stand firm and to heal.
6. For our seminarians, for all missionaries, for the men and women serving in the military.

Priest: O Lord, you are our portion and cup.  You support us all our days of our lives. Hear these prayers we make for all your Church, though Christ,  our Lord for ever and ever. Amen.
