4/3/2013 – Wednesday of first week of Easter – Acts 3:1-10

Today and tomorrow, we hear a continuing story about a lame man who is asking for alms in the Temple area.  He is looking for some money for some food and the other necessities of life.  He gets something altogether different – healing from his infirmities.  He is so excited after his healing – he is walking and jumping around and praising God.
Healing comes in different forms in our lives.  God’s graces and God’s presence are there in our lives in so many different ways, yet how often are we oblivious to that presence at work in our lives.
Peter and John not only are able to recognize God at work in their lives, they are not only able to believe and to understand who Jesus is, but they use their faith to work wonders in their community, to continue the work and ministry of Jesus.  All of us need to ask ourselves how God is calling us this Easter season to celebrate the presence of the risen Christ in our lives and to bring his Good News to others.  If we are not truly living out the Gospel message, how is it really present to us in our lives?
