It is interesting to look at the prayer intentions Pope Leo XIV has for each month. For the month of September, he asks to pray for the care of water, for a just and sustainable management of water, a vital resource, so that everyone may have equal access to it. As we see photos of reservoirs in the West that are going dry and know all-too-well the problems that the city of Jackson has had with its water system, we pray for care for our water. At my prison masses, the inmates can write down their prayers intentions that we read during the prayers of the faithful. Recently, one of the men prayed that at the end of the prison mass, we get to have cookies once again. It is a treat that the prison sometimes provides for the church services, but for a while, we have not had them. Sometimes, it is the seemingly small things in life that have importance and that can make their way into our prayers. Have a blessed week everyone. Father Lincoln.
