As we mark the last weekend in the month of September, we hear the famous Gospel reading of Lazarus and the rich man from Luke. The rich man chose to ignore Lazarus and his needs, even though Lazarus was just outside his door. Are we willing to reach out to those who most need our help? Sometimes those who need our help the most are not found in the most glamorous or most exciting works of charity. But ultimately, God calls us to reach to those who truly need us the most. I look forward to seeing all of you when I get back from the pilgrimage this upcoming week. Blessings to all of you - Father Lincoln.
This is a blog of homilies, reflections, and photos from a Roman Catholic priest serving in the Diocese of Jackson in the state of Mississippi. Currently, I am the pastor of Holy Savior in Clinton and Immaculate Conception in Raymond. I have served as Vicar General of the Diocese since July 2019. I also serve as Catholic chaplain in the federal prison in Yazoo City and the state prison in Pearl.
