Lord Jesus - you are ascended into heaven.
Christ Jesus - you are seated at the right hand of the Father.
Lord Jesus - you hear the cry of the poor and the suffering.
Priest: As we commemorate this 9th week in Ordinary Time, let us bring our prayers to our Heavenly Father:
1. For the Church: that we may continue the mission of our Savior and bring forth the reign of God through our words and our actions.
2. For a spirit of evangelization: that the Holy Spirit will guide us in witnessing our faith to others.
3. For the coming of God’s kingdom: that we may work with great dedication to bring the values of God's kingdom to the reality of our world.
4. For the Catholic community in the Diocese of Jackson: that through our journey of faith each day we may be renewed in the Holy Spirit to live for Christ and to place our talents and gifts in our service to God and his people.
5. For healing for the sick. For those in the hospice, hospital, and nursing home. For the repose of the souls of the faithful departed.
6. For the prayers we hold in the silence of our hearts.
Priest: With joy in our hearts, we present our prayers through your son Jesus Christ, our Lord forever and ever. AMEN.
