prayers of the faithful - 22nd week in Ordinary Time - 2 September 2020

Lord Jesus - you are the hope of the people.

Christ Jesus - you are the son of the Father.

Lord Jesus - you are the Word of God.

We come around the Lord’s altar this evening in humility and sincerity, placing our prayers before our loving Father.

1. We pray that God may grant all believers the grace to be holy and pleasing in God’s sight.

2. We pray that those in civil authority will dedicate themselves in justice, peace, and authentic freedom.

3. For an end to violence, terrorism, war, and the destruction of property.  We all of us work together in justice and peace to solve our society’s problems.

4. For our first responders, the men and women of the military, and for our medical professionals on the front lines, for gratitude for their service to our society.

5. For our students, teachers, and administrators, for continued blessings for the school year.

6. For the sick and shut-in, for healing for all who are broken in body, mind, and spirit, and for the repose of the souls of the faithful departed.

Heavenly Father, we present these prayers this evening through your son Jesus Christ, our Lord forever and ever.  AMEN.
