Come Holy Spirit - a reflection in honor of Pentecost

Inspired by the poetry and writings of Benedictine Sister Joan Chittister, one of the wise elders of our faith:

Come, Holy Spirit, come.
As we have so many questions on our journey, lead us to moments of awareness.
In in our search and our seeking, lead us to moments of enlightenment.
May we find you in the wisdom of the past.
May we find you in the study of God’s Holy Word.
May we seek you in our present confusion and frustrations.
May we find you in the hopes and hope we have for the future.
May you awaken a new energy within us, a new thirst, a new desire.
May you help us find the divine presence in our hearts, in that deep longing that we have to connect with God.
May we come to know you not only in our epiphanies and in our mountaintop experiences, but also in the ordinary, mundane moments of everyday life.
Come Holy Spirit, come.
Come, help us find meaning.
Come, help us to be.
