This weekend, the Pontifical
Council for the New Evangelization calls us to a Lenten Initiative called “24
Hours for the Lord.” We at St James in
Tupelo are spreading this special encounter with the Lord over the course of
the weekend. Here is our schedule:
Friday – 12:10 – special mass
for peace followed by stations of the cross.
Friday - 6:00 pm – stations of the cross in English led by the junior
high youth and stations of the cross in Spanish led by the Hispanic altar servers.
Friday – 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm –
the sacrament of reconciliation with Father Lincoln in the John Paul II room of
the Catholic Life Center.
Friday- 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm –
fish fry sponsored by the Knights of Columbus – proceeds to go to the diocesan
seminarian education fund.
Sunday 2:30 pm to Monday 6:00 pm – Eucharistic
adoration in the Knights of Columbus building.
