Prayer for peace - masses on January 2 and 3, 2016

Each week at St James Catholic Church in Tupelo, we pray for an end to war, terrorism and violence.  Here is the pray that we will pray at our masses this weekend.

Prayer for Peace

Lord God, no one is a stranger to you.
No one is ever far from your loving care.
In your kindness, watch over refugees and victims of war and terrorism,
those separated from their loved ones,
young people who are lost,
and those who have left home or who have run away.
Bring them back safely to the place where they long to be.
Help us always to show your kindness to strangers and to all in need.
Help us to be instruments of your peace.
Help us to convert those hearts who turn to terrorism and violence.
Just as you led the Magi to the Christ child, lead all of us to Christ the light and help us to share that light to the world.
Grant this through Christ our Lord.  AMEN.
