19 October 2025 - World Mission Sunday - bulletin reflection

Do we see ourselves as being missionary in spirit? Do we support missionaries throughout the world with our prayers and with our resources? This weekend we commemorate World Mission Sunday and the importance of supporting the missions in our Catholic faith. For many years, the country of the United States was considered mission territory. The Diocese of Jackson is still considered a mission diocese. Our popes have stated very strongly that a mission identity and a heart for evangelization are important parts of who we are as Catholics. As we commemorate World MIssion Sunday this weekend, may these question stir the missionary spirit within us. Blessings to all of you this weekend. Father Lincoln.
