Lord Jesus - you bring us new life.
Christ Jesus - you call us to be missionary in spirit.
Lord Jesus - you call us to take our rest in you.
Prayers of the Faithful:
Priest: Ever mindful that Jesus is always there to show us how to listen for God’s voice and guide us according to God’s will for us, we present our prayers to God:
1. For all the members of Christ’s body in the Church: that we may continue to listen to God’s insistent call to help the poor and the needy.
2. For the leaders of this world, that they learn to listen to the voice of God as they carry out their earthly responsibilities to those whom they are duty-bound to serve.
3. For an end to the violence perpetrated by harsh words, deadly weapons, or cold indifference.
4. For the Gospel of Life, that we may respect human life and God’s creation in our words and our actions, and we pray that all unborn children be protected by our laws and welcomed in love.
5. For people of all religions, that they be able to practice their faith in freedom and openness.
6. For the sick and the dying - for the repose of the souls of the faithful departed.
Priest: Heavenly Father, you gave us ears to hear your voice and hearts designed to live according to your will. Please help us to use these gifts to love and serve others. We these these prayers through Jesus Christ, our Lord forever and ever. Amen.
