Lord Jesus, you are the master of both light and darkness. We ask that you send your Holy Spirit upon us as we prepare for Christmas and the coming of our savior. We have so much to do in our busy lives; may we intentionally seek quiet spaces to hear your voice each day. We can be anxious and stressed out about so many things; may we look forward to your coming into the world with patience and understanding.
Even though we are blessed in so many ways, we sometimes do not take the time to recognize our blessings. In the midst of our Advent journey, may we long for the complete joy of your kingdom. Our hearts may be heavy and burdened; may we seek the joy of your presence. We are your people who walk amidst the darkness of our world; may we always seek your light. In celebration of this holy season of Advent, may we say: Come, Lord Jesus, come! Amen.
