6th Sunday in Easter - Cycle B - mass introductions and prayers of the faithful

Introduction to sprinkling rite
In the joyful days of the Easter season, the Holy Spirit draws us together to renew again the covenant we have with God in our baptismal promises.  Let the Lord bless us with his life-giving water.

Penitential rite - option C
Lord Jesus - You suffered for our sins - Lord have mercy
Christ Jesus - You call us to live under God’s love - Christ have mercy
Lord Jesus - You open the way of new life for us - Lord have mercy

Prayers of the faithful:
Priest: We now present our prayers and petitions to the God of abundant love:
1. For all who hold onto and build up the Catholic faith - may they grow in their own faith, and out of their faith, reach out to others.
2. For our governmental leaders here in the US and throughout the world - may their accept God’s message brought to them by the Holy Spirit and may they govern with compassion and justice.
3. For those received into the Church during the Easter season and for those who have received the sacraments of first Eucharist - may their lives of faith be a sign of new life to the world.
4. For students who are either graduating or who are completing their academic year, may their summer break be for them a time of new grown and rest.
5. For all who served in our armed forces, for our first responders, for the City of Pearl as it celebrates its roots and its founding fathers and mothers - in thanks and gratitudes for their service and courage.
6. For the sick and shut-ins and the repose of the souls of the faithful departed.
Priest:  God of love, fill us with your Holy Spirit.  Grant our prayers that we make in the name of your Son, our risen Lord forever and ever.
