We ask
God to bless our Advent wreath as we light one candle on this first
Sunday of Advent.
Heavenly
Father,
We
praise you and we thank you for the gift of your Son.
You sent
Jesus as a Light to the nations.
You sent
him to reveal your Light and Love to a world that was darkened by sin.
Christ
is our hope and our salvation.
He is
Emmanuel.
He is
the promised Messiah.
He
brings wisdom and peace to our troubled world.
Lord
God, bless this wreath on this first Sunday of Advent as we
light the first candle.
Bless
those who gaze upon its light in hopeful anticipation.
Come,
Lord Jesus, come!
We ask
this through Christ our Lord.
