We have been hearing from the Letter of James in our second readings in our Sunday Masses these past few weeks. The Letter of James gives us a lot of practical advice of how we can live as authentic disciples of faith. In previous weeks, we heard James tell us to be doers of the Word of God, not just hearers of his word. We heard James call out some of the Christian communities of his day for not being inclusive, for treating members differently due to their social status. Today, we hear James tell us in very strong words that faith without works is dead. We should heed this advice from James as we live out our faith each day.
As we hear these readings from James, we start our program of religious education here at St Jude. We feel the spirit of Stacy Wolf leading us and guiding us on our journey this year. Under the leadership of Kathleen Edwards, we want to thank everyone who has volunteered to contribute to our program of religious education this year. We are excited to have our youth program on Sunday evenings following the 4:00 pm Sunday Mass. We will also have some different options for our adult faith formation classes as well.
We also want to thank everyone for their contributions to our parish both monetarily and otherwise that have help us continue our ministry here at St Jude during these challenging times of the pandemic. We thank you for your faithfulness and generosity to our parish community.
Blessings to all of you. We are glad to see you at our Masses and at our religious education program this weekend. Father Lincoln.
