Lord Jesus - you are Lord of heaven and earth - Lord have mercy.
Christ Jesus - you call us to be good steward of the earth and her resources - Christ have mercy.
Lord Jesus - you are our good shepherd.
Priest: Loving God, creator of the Universe, you know every creature and its needs. With great trust we offer our petitions in the name of all creation.
1. That people of all faith come together to respect, pray, and act for the good of all creation.
2. That we respect the earth’s resources, and see ourselves as stewards of those resources for present and future generations.
3. For wisdom for our Church and governmental leaders in leading us to solidarity and cooperation.
4. That our children and youth may be inspired by the example of Saint Francis to make choices in life that are selfless and sustainable, that they may promote the care and safeguarding of ecosystems, and grow in their love of nature and God’s creation.
5. That we who participate in this Eucharist, offering God the gifts that earth has given and human hands have made, may be ready and willing to respond to God’s word that calls us to be prophets of a creation made new in the body and blood of Christ.
6. For the repose of the souls of the faithful departed, and those prayers we hold in our hearts today.
Priest: With humble hearts, we make these prayers through your son Jesus Christ our Lord forever and ever. AMEN.
