Lord Jesus, you bring us justice and peace.
Christ Jesus, you bring us new life.
Lord Jesus, you call us to mercy and solidarity.
Priest: As we commemorate the anniversary of 9/11 today, we present our prayers to our loving God:
1. For our Church leaders including Pope Leo XIV and Bishop Kopacz, that they may always lead the people of God in justice and peace.
2. For our governmental leaders, may we all work together toward an end to terrorism, war, and violence. May we work together to build justice and unity throughout our land and throughout the world.
3. For our first responders and the men and women in the military. For our veterans and our medical professionals.
4. For our children, youth, college students, parents, and teachers. For blessings for this school year in their studies.
5. For the sick and shut in. For those in the hospital, hospice, and nursing homes. For healing and wholeness.
6. For the repose of the souls of the faithful departed. For their entry into eternal life.
7. For our country on the anniversary of 9/11. For those who suffered from that attack. For the lives lost and for those who were injured. For their families and loved ones.
Priest: Heavenly father, we present these prayers to you through your son Jesus Christ, our Lord forever and ever. AMEN.
