Just as Jesus called Andrew and Simon to discipleship in the midst of the reality of daily life, Jesus calls each one of us to discipleship in the context of our own lived reality. While we initially assume discipleship in the waters of baptism, during our journey of faith, we are called to conversion, repentance, and renewal. Most important, our discipleship is not something we treasure for ourselves, but out of our discipleship, we are called to serve others. We have to be opening to hearing the call of the Lord in our lives and to responding to that call. Even as a priest, I have to discern where God is calling me to serve him and to serve God’s people. Thus, it is important that we stay active in our life of faith, that we have engaged prayer life and life of formation in the faith, and that we find ways to live out our faith. Blessings to all of you during these weeks of Ordinary Time - Father Lincoln.
