Introduction: In his everyday ministry, Jesus reached out to the crowds in the reality of their lives. They listened to his teachings and to his proclamation of God’s kingdom. May we learn from Jesus in the midst of our daily reality as we meet him today in his word and in his body and blood of the Eucharist at Mass.
Lord Jesus - you sow the seeds of love and mercy amongst us - Lord have mercy.
Christ Jesus - you shower us with your compassion and kindness - Christ have mercy.
Lord Jesus - you nourish us with your body and blood - Lord have mercy.
Priest: God sends the rain and the snow down from the heavens in order for the earth to grow and thrive. In that same spirit, let us ask God to provide for our needs and the needs of our brothers and sisters, so that we all may grow and thrive.
1. For the Church: that we may sow God’s word generously and nurture it so that it will produce much fruit, we pray to the Lord.
2. For the nations of the world: that we may all share our resources and the bounty of the earth, we pray to the Lord.
3. For the farmers and the laborers who produce the food we eat, for a bountiful harvest and for success in their work, we pray to the Lord.
4. For people in our country and throughout the world who are suffering from drought or from flood, for the city of Jackson and other communities who do not have access to sufficient or safe drinking water, we pray to the Lord.
5. For families who are traveling throughout the summer vacation, for our children and youth in all their summer activities, we pray to the Lord.
6. For healing for the sick and the shut-in. For the repose of the souls of the faithful departed. We pray to the Lord.
7. For the prayers we hold in the silence of our hearts. For our prayer intentions, spoken and unspoken. We pray to the Lord.
Priest: God of infinite kindness, you lavish us with love and mercy. May we share the love we have received from our family, friends, and neighbors, and ultimately from you, as you grant the prayers we make through your son Jesus Christ, our Lord forever and ever. AMEN.
