Little tiny crosses of iron that decorated the tables at the Lenten luncheon that we hosted last week at St James Catholic Church in Tupelo for all of the churches in our city. Our theme was the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, particularly looking at what to bring on the journey, and how the pilgrims have to purge things from their knapsack if they overpack. Our wonderful liturgy director Kris Ivancic came up with this idea of these mini crosses of iron as center pieces. What a cute idea!
This is a blog of homilies, reflections, and photos from a Roman Catholic priest serving in the Diocese of Jackson in the state of Mississippi. Currently, I am the pastor of Holy Savior in Clinton and Immaculate Conception in Raymond. I have served as Vicar General of the Diocese since July 2019. I also serve as Catholic chaplain in the federal prison in Yazoo City and the state prison in Pearl.
