We return to Ordinary Time this weekend, after celebrating the holy seasons of Advent and Christmas. Then, a month from today, on Wednesday, February 14, we will commemorate Ash Wednesday with the holy day of Ash Wednesday. We heard from John the Baptist on two Sundays during Advent. Today, we once again hear from John the Baptist in our Gospel reading. We are called to listen to the message of John the Baptist and the other prophets, applying their message to the reality of the modern world, as we journey through these days of ordinary time after the end of the Christmas season, I am realizing that just a month from today, on February 14, we will begin the holy season of Lent. As we reach out to others in works of mercy, as we evangelize the world through our words and actions, may God bless us through the everyday moments of life. Blessings to all of you - Father Lincoln.
