Advent is just around the corner. We are kicking off the Advent season with two opportunities for the sacrament of reconciliation. Beginning at 2:00 pm on the first Sunday of Advent (December 1), we will have adoration of the blessed sacrament and the sacrament of reconciliation in the chapel. This will run until 3:00 pm or until the last person is finished. We will have our Advent reconciliation service at 6:00 pm on Monday, December 2. The young apostles youth group will have a spaghetti dinner that same evening to raise funds to go to the Diocesan youth convention. Please join us for this wonderful way to begin the Advent season and to prepare for the coming of the Lord.
This is a blog of homilies, reflections, and photos from a Roman Catholic priest serving in the Diocese of Jackson in the state of Mississippi. Currently, I am the pastor of Holy Savior in Clinton and Immaculate Conception in Raymond. I have served as Vicar General of the Diocese since July 2019. I also serve as Catholic chaplain in the federal prison in Yazoo City and the state prison in Pearl.
