Baptism is a bath of regeneration. (Titus 3:5 - he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.)
Baptism is an enlightenment. (Hebrews 10:32 - But recall the former days when, after you were enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings.)
Baptism is us putting on Christ. (Galatians 3:27 - for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.)
Baptism is a burial. (Romans 6:4 - for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.)
Baptism is a cross. (Galatians 2:20 - for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.)
This is a blog of homilies, reflections, and photos from a Roman Catholic priest serving in the Diocese of Jackson in the state of Mississippi. Currently, I am the pastor of Holy Savior in Clinton and Immaculate Conception in Raymond. I have served as Vicar General of the Diocese since July 2019. I also serve as Catholic chaplain in the federal prison in Yazoo City and the state prison in Pearl.
