When I was researching something in the Code of Canon Law, I came across this in the responsibilities of the pastor: Canon 528.2 - "The pastor is to see to it that the Most Holy Eucharist is the center of the parish assembly of the faithful." I had been told by a parishioner once that not everyone is as connected to the mass as I am, as a priest and as a convert to Catholicism. It saddens me that so many people take the mass and the eucharist for granted.
