We celebrated Our Lady of Guadalupe on Thursday night, December 11, in Yazoo City with a vigil mass. Here I am with a couple of parishioners in
front of our Blessed Virgin Mary altar at St Mary Catholic Church in Yazoo
City. The little baby was dressed up as Saint Juan Diego, the man to whom Our
Lady of Guadalupe first appeared way back in 1531. We had a great celebration,
starting with mass and the rosary at 11:00 pm and then ending with a big fiesta
in our parish hall. I finally got to bed at 3:00 am.
This is a blog of homilies, reflections, and photos from a Roman Catholic priest serving in the Diocese of Jackson in the state of Mississippi. Currently, I am the pastor of Holy Savior in Clinton and Immaculate Conception in Raymond. I have served as Vicar General of the Diocese since July 2019. I also serve as Catholic chaplain in the federal prison in Yazoo City and the state prison in Pearl.
