This is a tree changing the color of its leaves in front of All Saints parish in Belzoni, Mississippi. Just as the tree changes its color and loses its leaves and prepares for the winter, we are called to change with the changes in our liturgical year. We are getting ready for the end of our Church's liturgical year and for the season of preparation and prayer and waiting during Advent. Are we getting ready? Are we ready for change in our lives?
This is a blog of homilies, reflections, and photos from a Roman Catholic priest serving in the Diocese of Jackson in the state of Mississippi. Currently, I am the pastor of Holy Savior in Clinton and Immaculate Conception in Raymond. I have served as Vicar General of the Diocese since July 2019. I also serve as Catholic chaplain in the federal prison in Yazoo City and the state prison in Pearl.
